Veteran's Day

Today is Veteran's Day, and I've only come to truly understand and appreciate the scarifices of our military in these past few years. Last year I watched a special broadcast from a war memorial in DC and it had me in tears.
Anyway, I called my grandpa today to say thank you. To let him know I love him, and appreciate his sacrifices. To let him know he's my hero. He seemed a bit flustered by the attention, but thanked me for remembering.
So, I urge you, call your favorite veteran today. Let them know their work has not been forgotten.

My granddad has passed but I still remember him on this day.

They have done an increased amount of activity at the boy's school in the last few years surrounding veteran's day. I am glad my boys are learning to respect those who fight for our freedom.

What a wonderful thing you did for your grandpa...very thoughtful! I made a video for all the veterans in my family, and I think they were suprised, most times no one says much to them on Veterans Day, but it's nice that people are starting to remember more. I know i'm striving to do so! Good Job Momma!
