When I was in school, most kids were embarrassed to have braces. The rest of our families couldn't afford it, but at the time we wouldn't have wanted them anyway. Now, kids show off their braces. They get the rubber bands color coordinated with their ipods. I've even heard of kids getting fake braces. WTF? Anyway, I'm glad the stigma is gone, because poor Golden Boy is going to be getting braces in the not too distant future.
I know of at least one person who had a really bad experience with her little one freaking out at the dentist. The thought terrifies me. I can't imagine having to hold the Belly down, or listen to him cry.
Thank god I'm not the one taking him!
I'll give you a little weather update for today. It's a balmy 12 degrees and snowing sideways.
Last thing, I swear. Yesterday I saw this pic of David Beckham and I couldn't breathe for a moment.

Oh my gosh! That picture is awesome.
good luck with the dentist. I have a feeling my daughter will be one of those kids that freak out.
OMG David Beckham! Yummy! Too bad his dorky voice is such a turn-off. I bet Posh makes him stay silent...no need for words, just pose.
Great blog! Don't sweat the dentist, things arre so much easier than when we were kids. Thy usually have a playstation in the cahir and stuff. Take care!
Yikes! I remember those days of orthodonistry. I had every contraption known to man in my mouth and I worry so much about my kids having all that junk.
I am glad to hear that the stigma has been doused though because it really was torture in my pre-teen years. So glad things are changing.
BTW: I love that David Beckham pic, he is sooooooooo HOT!
Funny... I had the same reaction when I saw that pic. Thanks for sharing. ;)
Laughed my bum off about DH (I'm assuming Dad?) having to use his day off to take the little one to and appointment! It will be nice for him to have to enjoy that aspect of the parenting world.
Actually my Dad was in construction and was often out of work so he would take us to alot of our appointments. We actually preferred it. He was much more compassionate. My Mom just does not to sick people well.
My Mom is actually dieing of lung and brain cancer. It is spreading everywhere. My Dad is taking care of her. It is sweet to see, an inspiration. He take such pains to ensure her comfort.
So, I think it's great DH is going to have the opportunity to brush up on his nurturing skills. You never know when or how he may need to call on them in the future!

Aack ... a baby root canal! That sounds horrible. Little 'Ny has her dental check up tomorrow and I am praying for only good news.
David Beckham is delicious!
HOORAY! Little 'Ny passed her dental check up with flying colors (and a whole lot of screaming & tears). The "cavity" is just a stain on her teeth. And, they confirmed her bottom second molars are making their way out. You will have to let me know how the baby root canals go.
