Extra Medium

D and I were at Old Navy yesterday, and he was perplexed as to why I'd get a Large size sweatshirt when he is anything but large. He was looking through a rack and found extra small and extra large. He wants to know where they keep the extra medium......

Adventures in Unemployment

Hubs made breakfast for me this morning, and then let me sleep some more. AFTER he'd worked all night. Sorry, ladies - he's mine. Then I went to the mall. Almost got a life sized stand up thingie of Rob Pattinson, but figured Hubs wouldn't like it standing next to the bed. Looked at jewelry, got a Vday present for Hubs, looked at clothes. Damn, this not working stuff is AWESOME!!!

Well, it's awesome in small doses. Then I remember I need a dang job, and I'd like to start one before August. Takes all the fun out of it.

Big Ups!

Does anyone say that anymore? Or do I just listen to very, very old music?

Dawn at Must Love Tots gave me some love for being an Honest Scrapper. Mostly my friends just say, don't call Jesse if you want to hear something nice and fake. Only if you want to hear brutal honesty. Amazing I have friends at all, isn't it? I'm working on that, seriously. Just try it. Call me with something insane and I *promise* I'll be nice. Honest, but in a nice-ish way. How's that, whiners? I mean, my lovelies?

So here's the women I'd like to pass this along to, because I adore them and because they're more real than half the people I actually see face to face.

The Gremlin Wrangler because she is a working, homeschooling mom with 4 kids and an amazing sense of humor. She has strong views and never apologizes for them. And she makes a mean stromboli.

Three Scurvy Dogs and Their Mamas because they have the most beautiful family, and it makes me wish they'd adopt me.

Wine Please, my fundraising, amazingly funny friend who is not afraid of anything.

Crikey, I just realized this could be a very, very long list. I'll make it fast, I promise!

What's In Sissy's Head? - I wear my pajamas all day sometimes, too. See? Now that's honesty!

Red Lotus Mama - open and thoughtful, a great inspiration.

Midwest Mommy - another great inspiration - teacher, stay at home mom, and helper of blog templates.

Okay, so I seem to be sharing all my favorite blogs today. Hell, just check the links on my left sidebar and check them out. They're all great.

And Dawn, my shiny Volvo loving, puke cleaning, do-it-all mom friend - Thanks :) Now if everyone would be so obliging as to move to Chicago so we could all hang out....

Quarantine

I'm on sick boy duty. How is it that a small person who thrashes and whimpers all night seems to be a-ok in the morning, and the big person watching over him feels like she got 5 minutes of sleep??
Daimean woke up in the wee hours again. Thankfully this time he avoided the pixie stix. I got up at 5am to let the dogs out, and he was fully dressed and watching tv. I made him go back to bed.
Isaiah is still coughing, and this morning threw a fever into the mix. He sways between feeling fine to suddenly just laying there. Neither state seems to last very long.

Still haven't heard anything from the place I interviewed at on Monday. *sigh*

Wading through the insanity of college applications. Trying to come to terms with going into debt like that. Trying to figure out how I can be in 3 places at one time.

And the Beat Goes On

Yesterday I went to my interview, fresh and confident. I left feeling, well, just okay. I met with two women, and really clicked with the first. The second, the dept manager, wasn't really sending any warm fuzzies. She warmed up towards the end of the interview when I started asking questions about the organization.

In the end, she said that she would meet with the HR woman and I'd hear from her. And so the wait begins.

Belly is home sick today. Curled up on the couch watching movies. And me, I'm feeling rather useless.
